These valves are used for relieving pressure caused by ground water under the floors of reservoirs, canals, etc., and are cast in as shown below. The body is of either cast iron or cast stainless steel, whilst the flexible disc and sealing ring are Neoprene.
Maximum recommended pressure head on the valve is 4m.
Approximate flow rates for various differential heads are as follows:
